It’s sad to me how attached, and unhealthy fan culture is. People don’t just enjoy things, they absorb it, obsess over it, fixate to the point of dangerous levels. It goes way beyond escapism.
Things like fan service and shipping don’t help either, in fact they hurt both the artists, and the fans as well. Especially if the stuff presented turns out to not be true.
Situations like the drama surrounding BOC, and KinnPorsche cast are clear examples of it. Same with fans of recording artists, and western performers as well.
I worry about the mental sanity of everyone involved, the fans that connect too much to an image and overreact dangerously, the fans who mistake admiration for love, and the actors/artists that go through mental turmoil because of how overwhelming it all is, significantly younger performers.
People should be able to enjoy something without hyper-fixating, and actors/artists should love what they do without it being poisoned by obsessive Stan fans.
I don’t know, but lately, this has been on my mind. It’s stuck, and I needed to say what I felt. I hope I didn’t hurt anyone’s feelings.
